STUDY SMART - 59 Tips on How to Achieve Your Best Possible Grades

ATTITUDE
1) Set high goals.
2) Realize good grades take a lot of determination and hard work.
3) Keep a positive image of yourself.
4) Donšt underestimate your academic ability.

ATTENDING LECTURES
5) Sit in the front!
6) Maintain eye contact.
7) Be on time.
8) Attend every class.
9) Take notes of the main points. Capture the concepts being taught. Donšt just write down words you donšt understand. Try to paraphrase, using as few words as possible.
10) Prepare for class in advance so you recognize the main points.
11) Spend most of your time listening.
12) Take notes of anything the professor puts on the board.
13) Take neat, legible notes. Pencils are neater than pens.
14) Actively participate in the class. Concentrate on what the professor is saying. Ask questions.

READING
15) Stay caught up!
16) Review lecture notes within 24 hours of the lecture.
17) Study in a quiet place, without distractions, music or beer.
18) Read assigned material before the lecture.
19) Effective reading starts with a survey.
